Ruth Hannon

Professor Ruth Hannon began her career at McMaster in the School of Nursing as a Sessional tutor in 2000. She is currently a Teaching Professor at the School, as well as a Nurse Practitioner with the Caroline Family Health team in Burlington.

Ruth holds a bachelor's degree in nursing science from Queen's University, a master's degree in health administration from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and a master's degree in science – family nurse practitioner and a doctorate in nursing practice from D'Youville College in Buffalo, New York.

Her most famous textbooks are Porth Pathophysiology (Second Canadian Edition) and Canadian Perspectives On Advanced Practice Nursing (2nd edition).

Ruth's professional experience includes cardiovascular nursing as an ICU nurse, ICU clinician, and Acute Care Course Coordinator in Sydney, Australia, critical care nursing with Hamilton Health Sciences in Hamilton, and currently working in Family Practice as an NP-PHC in Burlington.
